In 2014, Vihara Innovation Network undertook a study for a US based foundation, Humanity United to explore ICT’s potential in reshaping migration experiences of marginalised Nepali migrant workers. The team utilised user-centered research and design principles to propose offline and online tech interventions that emerged from in depth analysis of their tech behaviour and information needs to enable informed decision-making for minimising exploitation in the process of economic migration.
